Is Sandeep Reddy Vanga's cryptic 'feminism' post meant for Deepika Padukone? Neitzens think so

Mumbai/IBNS: Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has shared a cryptic post on social media without mentioning any name, days after superstar Deepika Padukone opted out of the former's upcoming film, Spirit, with much controversy.

Though Sandeep has taken no one's name in particular, netizens believe the post was meant for Deepika, who had reportedly placed a number of demands for the makers to fulfill if she had to join the project.

The filmmaker wrote on X, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are.... Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for ?

"As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo.... Agli baar poori kahani bolna... kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames I like this kahawath very much :-) खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !"

One user wrote in the comment, "I truly admire your conviction and passion which are quite visible in your work. Your imaginative song sequences are original & imaginative and finely intertwined with the narrative. I hope #DeepikaPadukone and you sort this between yourselves. The chance to see Deepika in a movie directed by you is lost, but hopefully the dispute will settled amicably. She's also an actor of immense substance."

One Shilpa says, "Whom is he talking about? Deepika?"

Another user writes, "Smart move replacing her. You got a better actress, saved 15–20 crores, and the film's value just shot up as people would rather watch your film even with some debutante than that so-called feminist star. "

While some reports claim Deepika had demanded Rs. 40 crore as remuneration, others wrote the actress, who has embraced motherhood months ago, refused to work beyond six hours a day and charged extra if shooting continues after 100 days.

Triptii Dimri replaces Deepika Padukone

Bollywood's new heartthrob Triptii Dimri has replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead in Spirit.

Triptii will reunite with Vanga, whose 2023 film Animal provided massive fame to the actress, who is also referred to as "national crush" on social media.

Excited about grabbing the role, Triptii wrote on Instagram, "Still sinking in…. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision."
