Mumbai, Sept 14 (IBNS): Bollywood's new hitmaker Ayushmann Khurrana, who has delivered another promising movie with Dream Girl, turned 35 on Saturday.

Ayushmann, who shined in movies like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Andha Dhun, started the year with a bang with the movie Article 15 where he was seen playing the character of a cop.

Ayushmann made his film debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Vicky Donor, in which his performance as a sperm donor earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Following a brief setback, he starred in the commercially and critically successful romance Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). Khurrana went on to establish himself with the comedies Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Badhaai Ho (2018).

He also shined at this year's National Film Award.

Meanwhile, Dream Girl is his latest release and so far critics have appreciated it.

The movie made a strong start at the Box Office on Friday as film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#DreamGirl takes a heroic start... Emerges #AyushmannKhurrana’s biggest opener to date... Has also opened bigger than several mid-range films [2019] like #Uri [₹ 8.20 cr], #LukaChuppi [₹ 8.01 cr] and #Chhichhore [₹ 7.32 cr]... Fri ₹ 10.05 cr. #India biz."

Meanwhile, several Bollywood actors wished him on a special day for Ayushmann.

Actor John Abraham tweeted: "Happy birthday my little bro @ayushmannk."

Actor and brother Aparshakti Khurana said: "Conviction is his middle name. Totally loved the film. Congratulations to the entire team. By the way, my mom always wanted a daughter, but had two nasty boys. Actually one nasty and one, not so nasty. Anyway I think mumma will be really happy to see @ayushmannk  bhaiya as pooja!"
