Mumbai, Aug 5 (IBNS): Bollywood actresses Kajol and Genelia D'Souza shared their birthdays on Tuesday.

While Kajol added 40 years to her age, Genelia turned 27 years.

Besides sharing their birthdays, both the actresses are also known for their lively and cheerful on-screen characters.

Born into a family of actors and filmmakers, Kajol, who is the elder daughter of actress Tanuja and late director Shomu Mukherjee, made her debut in the silver screen with ‘Bekhudi’ in 1992.

The actress who starred in hit films like ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Dushman’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Fanaa’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, holds the record of bagging a maximum number of Filmfare Awards in the category of Best Actress, along with her aunt Nutan.

In 2011, she added one more feather to her crown as she was conferred the Padma Shri award by the Indian government for her contribution to Indian Cinema.

Her almost natural and impeccable essaying of the characters had an instant connect with the audience, making her somewhat rule the industry during her time.

Besides films, Kajol has been actively involved in several philanthropic activities related to women and children.

She married actor Ajay Devgan in 1999, and have a daughter, Nysa and a son, Yug.

Genelia D'Souza, who gained wide attention in a Parker Pen commercial with actor Amitabh Bachchan, made her debut in Bollywood with the film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’, with her husband Ritesh Deshmukh in 2003.

Genelia has starred in many Hindi and Telegu films including ‘Bommarillu’, ‘Satya In Love’, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Life Partner’, and ‘Chance Pe Dance’ among others.

Her success story in Bollywood started with her film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, where she portrayed the role of young college girl 'Aditi'.
