Actress Karisma Kapoor turns 40

Mumbai, June 25 (IBNS): Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor turned 40 years of age on Wednesday.
According to reports, she will celebrate her birthday with sister Kareena Kapoor Khan in London.
 
The actress recently visited the sets of 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' along with cousin Armaan Jain to promote his debut film 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil'.
 
Daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Karisma made her acting debut at the age of seventeen with 'Prem Qaidi' in 1991. 
 
She subsequently featured in several commercially successful films such as 'Jigar' (1992), 'Anari' (1993), 'Raja Babu', 'Suhaag' (1994), 'Coolie No. 1', 'Gopi Kishan' (1995), 'Saajan Chale Sasural' and 'Jeet' (1996).
 
In 1996, she bagged her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Raja Hindustani'.
 
She also earned the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in romantic drama 'Dil To Pagal Hai' (1997).
 
Karisma garnered critical acclaim for her performances in films like 'Fiza' (2000) and 'Zubeidaa' (2001), for which she bagged the Filmfare Awards- Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics). 
 
The actress took a break from acting after her marriage before featuring in 'Dangerous Ishhq' (2012).
