Women in Islam are treated like a footwear: Sakshi Maharaj

New Delhi, Apr 16 (IBNS) BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj has triggered a fresh controversy as he said Muslim women are treated like 'footwear'.

"The court needs to intervene into the matters of Islam , where women are treated like a footwear. They are used when in need and then discarded," Maharaj was quoted as saying in the media.

Sakshi Maharaj is an MP of the ruling BJP from Unnao.
