Will Kerala bars face shutdown tonight?

| | Sep 11, 2014, at 03:46 pm
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 11 (IBNS): As many as 700 bars in Kerala are likely to pull down their shutters for ever on Thursday evening following a move by the state government that decided to cancel all their licenses in a bid to turn the state dry in next 10 years, reports said.

The bar owners already moved the Supreme Court over the matter. Now they are hoping for a last minute reprieve, reports said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Apex Court questioned the logic of the state government’s decision to cancel all bar licenses across Kerala, sources said.

Only five-star hotels will be allowed to serve booze. But they also will have to go dry on every Sunday.
