West Bengal: Massive blaze guts several shops in Siliguri

Kolkata/Siliguri, Jun 16 (IBNS): A major fire broke out at a marketplace near Venus More under Khoribari Police Station limits in Siliguri city of northern West Bengal (North Bengal) on Friday evening, local media reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first seen at around 7 pm.

As many as 4 fire tender engines and local police rushed to the scene and firemen fought for nearly an hour to douse the massive blaze.

Few shops were gutted completely due to the major fire, according to locals.

Local police officials confirmed that no casualty was reported in the incident while the fire department has begun investigation to know the exact reason behind the fire.
