WB: Church vandalised in Nadia

Kolkata, July 10 (IBNS): Unidentified people have vandalised a church in West Bengal's Nadia district, reports said on Friday.

The incident occurred at St Thomas Catholic Church in Taherpur area in the district

No theft has been reported.

Police have started investing into the incident.

On Mar 13, the septuagenarian nun, the superior mother of a convent at Gangnapur in Ranaghat under Nadia district, was gang-raped after gang of miscreants broke into it and looted cash and valuables.

The incident evoked widespread indignation across the country and put West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's government in a spot with religious heads of the Christian community openly criticising the administration.
