WB: BSF seizes gold biscuits

Kolkata, July 23 (IBNS) The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday said its troops of Bop Mustafapur, 26 Bn BSF Krishnanagar Sector under South Bengal Ftr BSF seized gold biscuits on Tuesday.

“On 22 July 2014 , troops of Bop Mustafapur, 26  Bn BSF Krishnanagar  Sector under  South Bengal Ftr BSF  seized  05 Nos Gold biscuits, approximately weighing  583.200 grams  and valued  approx  Rs  17.5   lakhs  in the  market,” the BSF said in a statement.

Acting  upon specific  input,  troops of 26  Bn BSF in West Bengal’s Nadia district   planned  an special  operation  in  the area of  Bop  Mustafapur  and successfully recovered five gold  biscuits wrapped in towel ahead of fencing.

The BSF said seized items were handed over to customs in Krishnanagar  for further  legal formalities .

“South Bengal Ftr BSF  troops have  seized approx  49 Kg gold worth approx  14 crores and has apprehended  30 gold smugglers in last six months,” the BSF said.
