Vice President condoles the loss of lives in Varanasi stampede

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IBNS): Vice President M. Hamid Ansari on Sunday condoled the loss of lives in the stampede in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

"I am saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life in a stampede in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. I understand relief and rescue operations are currently underway," Ansari said.

He said :"I join the people of the country in conveying my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish speedy recovery to the injured persons.”
