Lucknow, Dec 11 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh police have arrested two people involved in the alleged rape of a minor late on Saturday night in Lucknow's Sarojini nagar area, media reported on Monday.

In a cruel twist of incidents, the minor was allegedly raped by the very person from whom she sought help after being raped earlier by two men, according to media reports.

The 15 year old, a blood cancer survivor, was allegedly gang-raped by two youth in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar, late on Saturday night.

As the rapists fled the secluded spot, leaving the girl behind, she managed to reach the main road and sought help from a passerby. According to media reports, the man, on the pretext of helping her, raped her.

The accused passerby — Banthara resident Virendra Yadav (45) — was arrested. Yadav works at a construction site, police said. Later, Sumit, one of the accused, was also arrested, reported TOI.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the girl was initially called away by an acquaintance called Shubham, who, along with another, took the girl to a secluded spot and raped her. Efforts are on to nab the said Shubham.
