Uttar Pradesh: Girl gang-raped in Jaunpur

Jaunpur, Oct 29 (UNI) A girl was allegedly gang-raped in the Barsathi area of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Tuesday.

According to sources, the girl, residing in the Barsathi area, apprised that she had gone to graze her cattle in a farm on Monday when two youths Santosh and Manish, living in the same village, forcibly took her to another farm and gang-raped her. The girl said the accused fled after threatening her.

A case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused in the Barsathi police station on Tuesday.

The victim was taken to a hospital for medical check-up and further action will be taken on the basis of medical report.

Police is on the lookout for the accused.
