Union Minister Shripad Naik recovering steadily: Health Department Official

Panaji/UNI: Union Minister of State for Defence and AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Naik is recovering steadily, according to a health department official.

The official said RT-PCR test conducted on the union minister on August 28, 2020, came out to be positive detecting COVID-19 virus in his body. The test would be conducted again after 48 hours, the official said.

Naik was admitted to a private hospital near the city on August 12, 2020, after he tested positive for COVID-19.

A team of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have visited the hospital twice and reviewed the health condition of Naik.

The team had expressed satisfaction over the health condition of the union minister and said there was no need to shift him to Delhi.
