Kyiv: The Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Wednesday issued an "urgent" advisory and asked all Indian nationals in Ukraine to leave war-hit Kharkiv city immediately.

In an advisory issued on Twitter, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine said: "Urgent advisory to all Indian nationals in Kharkiv immediately. Proceed to Pesochin, Babaye and Bezlyudovka as soon as possible".

"Under all circumstances they must reach these settlements by 1800 hrs Ukrainian time today," read the statement.

Bezliudivka is an urban-type settlement located in Kharkiv Raion of Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine. It is adjacent to the southern boundary of the city of Kharkiv and is situated on the Udy River (Seversky Donets Basin), 3 km from the railway stop. Pisochyn and Ryzhov railway stations are on the railway connecting Kharkiv and Poltava.

The settlement is included in the road network of Kharkiv urban agglomeration. In particular, the eastern boundary of Pisochyn is the Kharkiv Ring Road.

As of 2 pm in Kyiv, up to 15,000 people were hiding from bombs in Kyiv metro, the Ukranian media said.

According to Viktor Brahinsky, head of the Kyiv metro, the underground can host up to 100,000 people.

The stations have water, bathrooms, food, and medicine at their disposal. On Tuesday, an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv. India is evacuating its nationals through neighbouring countries like Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.
