Lucknow/UNI: At least two passengers were killed and seven others injured when an air-conditioned UPSRTC bus met with an accident due to dense fog near Fatehabad toll on Lucknow-Agra expressway on Monday morning.

UPSRTC MD Raj Shekhar, in a statement here, said that Scania Bus (UP 87 T 2093) was coming to Lucknow from Agra when the incident took place at Sikara village near Fatehabad toll on the Agra expressway.

He said UPSRTC officials have rushed to spot immediately.

The accident took place around 0730 hrs when the truck was parked on the highway after one of its tyres burst. As the fog was dense, when the Scania bus approached the truck, to avoid a collision, the driver took a sharp turn due to which the bus toppled down.

While two of the bus passengers were killed on the spot, seven were left injured and sent to a hospital after first aid.

The bus was carrying around 35 passengers when the accident occurred.
