Two hardcore NDFB (S) militants nabbed with huge arms-ammo, Police say major attack averted

Guwahati, Nov 30 (IBNS) : A major terror strike was averted in Assam's Guwahati city as police apprehended two hardcore NDFB(S) militants and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition on Tuesday night.

A top police official said on Wednesday that they have nabbed the militants, one of them woman, from Lankeswar area on the outskirts of  Guwahati.

One of them has been identified as Nayan Bodo, while the other militant is stated to be his wife.

The militants, who had taken shelter in the area, were  planning to make a major terror strike in Guwahati city, the official said.

They were apprehended on the basis of information gathered from  Suden Mushahary and Geeta Mushahary, both militants of the outfit, who were arrested by the Jakhalabandha police in middle Assam's Nagaon district recently.

Meanwhile, police also  apprehended another militant of the group from Dhanpur area in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.

The militant was  identified as Thanda Basumutary.

Police recovered a hand made rifle and ammunition in possession from him.
