Srinagar, May 7 (IBNS) Indian Railways suspended train services between Baramula and Banihal on Saturday to avoid any untoward event after three militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in a fierce gun battle with security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, media reported.
The train passes through Pulwama on the Baramula-Banihal route. Srinagar is also on this train route.

According to reports, Indian Army, Special operation group of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force laid seize around Panzgam village in the early morning after receiving inputs about some militants in the area.

When the cordon around the hiding militants was tightened, they resorted to indiscriminate firing at the security men leading to an encounter that left three local Hizbul Mujahideen dead.

The slain militants have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar of Dogirpura, Ishfaq Ahmad Baba of Tahab and Haseeb Ahmad Pahla (Palla) of Bandina.

Firing at the encounter site has stopped, but search operation is still on, reports said. Arms and ammunitions, including three  AK-47 rifles have been recovered from the encounter site.
