Tiger Shroff escapes unhurt as gunmen open fire in Mumbai’s Juhu; driver injured
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, leaving the driver of the vehicle in which he was travelling injured.
According to media reports, two individuals linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack.
Shroff, who has starred in several commercially successful Bollywood films and enjoys a substantial fan following, did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
Three rounds were fired at his BMW, sources told India Today. His driver was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg told India Today that two people, including the driver, were injured and hospitalised.
The area has been cordoned off, and police have formed 15 teams to investigate the firing and track down the suspects.
In an audio recording, a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit allegedly claimed that Shroff was targeted because he had ignored the gang’s directions and continued working with actor Salman Khan, NDTV reported.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in a Gujarat jail and has repeatedly threatened Salman Khan, according to media reports.
Who Is Tiger Shroff?
Tiger Shroff, born to Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff and producer Ayesha Dutt, made his acting debut with the action-romance film Heropanti in 2014. He won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male for his performance.
He subsequently starred in commercially successful action films, including Baaghi (2016), Baaghi 2 (2018) and War (2019).
However, several of his subsequent big-budget action films, including Heropanti 2 (2022), Ganapath (2023) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), underperformed commercially. His later release Baaghi 4 (2025) also came amid scrutiny of his box-office performance.
Despite the mixed commercial reception of his recent films, Shroff remains known for his action sequences, martial arts skills and dance performances.
