TDP lawmaker denied boarding pass, creates ruckus at airport

Visakhapatnam, June 15 (IBNS): Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leader and a lawmaker, JC Diwakar Reddy, created a ruckus at the Visakhapatnam airport after being denied the boarding pass for late arrival on Thursday morning, media reports.

The lawmaker is accused of damaging the printer used by the Indigo official at the check in counter of the airport.

The airline said an investigation is in process and they can't say anything about the incident prior to its completion.

The airport director told NDTV that the incident occurred between the airline staff member and the lawmaker, and he has received no formal complaint yet.

Last October, Reddy was seen to act in a similar manner when he had to miss the flight for coming late, when the Air India's counter was already closed by then.

The incident, which took place at the Visakhapatnam airport, is a continuation of the recent trends of how the lawmakers attacked the airline staffs.

Few months back, Parliamentarian Ravindra Gaekwad was accused of beating a 63 year old Air India staff member and was also suspended by the airline. However, the airline has lifted the ban later.

In the month of April, Trinamool Congress MP Dola Sen got engaged herself in quarreling with a staff member of the Air India over the issue of seating. Sen was travelling with her wheel chair bound mother and wanted the emergency seat for the latter, despite repeated rejections by the AI staff.
