Salem, Tamil Nadu, June 28 (IBNS) In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old girl committed suicide after her semi-nude pictures were posted on a Facebook page, reports said.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the girl hanged herself in her bedroom when her parents were not there.

The girl's father, who owns a powerloom, refused to receive her body after post-martem unless the police arrests the culprit who posted her picture on Facebook.

A few hours after the suicide, her semi-nude picture disappeared from the Facebook page.

The girl, who had completed B.Sc. last year, found her semi-nude picture posted on a Facebook page last week. She immediately informed her parents about this who lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police on June 23. The police had promised her father that they would nab the culprit within 15 days

But on Sunday, another nude picture was found posted on Facebook and the link was sent on her phone.

“She was very disturbed by her picture. And when we went out on Monday morning, she hanged herself,” the newspaper report quoted the father as saying.
