Suspected guerrillas enter JK EDI

Srinagar, Feb 20 (IBNS) Suspected guerrillas barged into J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JK EDI) Sempora in Pulwama on Saturday afternoon.

Reports said that suspected guerrillas entered the main building of EDI.

“Three guerrillas with heavily armed barged into the J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute”, senior police official told IBNS on phone.

He further said that numbers of employees are inside the institute, security forces or on job to evacuate them safely. 

A CRPF camp is situated close to the EDI building and is believed to the target of the militants. The CRPF men reportedly opened fire at the fleeing employees too. However, there are no reports of any casualty.

Meanwhile, CRPF spokesman Bhavesh Choudhury said that 9 CRPF Jawans were injured in a suspected guerrillas attack on convoy that was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu.

“Our first priority is to evacuate trapped persons inside the Industrial institute in which most of are employees”, Spokesman said.
