Speculations rife after Sanjay Raut and Devendra Fadnavis hold meeting

| @indiablooms | Sep 27, 2020, at 08:19 pm

Mumbai/IBNS:A meeting between BJP leader and former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday  has triggered speculations, amid the altercation between the two parties in the past few months, said media reports.

Two leaders met at a suburban hotel in Mumbai at a time when Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government is facing a lot of heat over Sushant Singh Rajput death case and Sena scion Aditya Thackeray is targetted by right wing trolls amid souring relations between the ruling party allies.

“Sanjay Raut wanted to meet Devendra Fadnavis to take his interview for party editorial Saamana, hence it was decided to meet once before the interview. Since Fadnavis wanted the whole interview to be published unedited, it was decided to meet before to decide on the modalities. The interview will take place after Fadnavis returns from Bihar campaigning,” BJP leader Pravin Darekar was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

While Raut did not answer questions on the meeting with the BJP leader, political analysts said the meeting can be perceived as more of a message by the Shiv Sena to its partners, the Congress and the NCP, that it still has good relations with the BJP
