Besides, Chief Minister Sonowal asked Minister in charge of Hill Areas Development, Mines and Minerals Sum Ronghang to visit the accident site with a high-powered team to take stock of the situation.

The high-powered team will also have MP Haren Sing Bay, MLA BB Hagjer and Nomal Momin, Chief Executive Member of Dima Haso Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa.

It may be noted that Chief Minister Sonowal on Friday held a meeting with the senior officers of the NEEPCO and took first-hand information of the incident.

Four employees of NEEPCO remained untraced for 96 hours after bursting of tunnel pipeline in NEEPCO Kopili Hydro Project at Umrangso in Assam’s Dima Hasao district on Oct 7.

Following the incident huge volume of water entered in the powerhouse of the project and washed away several properties.

Due to heavy water flow, some landslide also occurred in the area.
