New York: India on Monday made a veiled attack on Pakistan and said some countries are trying to utilise the COVID-19 situation to enhance terrorism or adopt aggressive policies.

TS Tirumurti, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, said India is using the current scenario to rush medical supplies and strengthen national health capacities to mitigate the socio-economic impact on vulnerable countries.

India mission at UN tweeted quoting Tirumurti as saying: "When some countries are taking advantage of Covid to enhance terrorism or adopt aggressive policies, India’s answer is to rush medical supplies, strengthen national health capacity or mitigate socio-eco impacts on vulnerable countries."

He made the remarks while addressing the commemoration of the third anniversary of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund.
