Six TMC MLAs to switch over to BJP in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 7 (IBNS): Advancing a tough challenge to the incumbent Left party in Tripura, all six Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLAs are set to switch over to the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday making the latter principal opposition in the state, media reports said.

Apart from the TMC MLAs, several Congress MLAs are also expected to join the saffron party.

Tripura has been the Left bastion with the party ruling in the state for last 20 years.

Earlier, the TMC MLAs were reported to have cross voted  in favour of  the BJP candidate Ram Nath Kovind in the Presidential election.
