RPF personnel shot dead in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 12 (IBNS) A Railway Protection Force personnel was killed after suspected militants fired upon him at Puchal track in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday, officials said.

Police sources said an unidentified gun man fired upon a RPF personnel at a point blank range and soon after shooting him, fled from the scene.

The RPF personnel whom police identified as Rajinder Singh (337), resident of Kanglora Tral, was shifted to Srinagar hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports,  the police and the CRPF personnel have launched a hunt to nab the assailants.
