'Rise above petty politics,' Amit Shah lashes out after Rahul Gandhi's Ladakh remark
New Delhi/UNI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday flayed Rahul Gandhi over his allegations against the government on the violent face-off with Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley and said the Congress leader should rise above petty politics and stand in solidarity with national interest.

Shah tweeted a video of the father of an Indian Army soldier, who was injured in the clash, to criticise Gandhi over his allegations against the government.
'A brave armyman’s father speaks and he has a very clear message for Rahul. At a time when the entire nation is united, Rahul Gandhi should also rise above petty politics and stand in solidarity with national interest,' Shah tweeted.
Former BJP president's tweet came after Gandhi posted a video on Friday of the father talking about the attack on Indian soldiers along the contested areas of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
As many as 20 soldiers, including a commanding officer of the 16th Bihar Regiment, were killed in Galwan valley on Monday night after the skirmish with China’s People’s Liberation Army.
In an all-party meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said neither has anyone entered Indian territory, nor is anyone present in Indian territory currently, and nor is any Indian post captured.
Earlier in the day, Gandhi tweeted, 'PM has surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression. If the land was Chinese: Why were our soldiers killed? Where were they killed?'
Tearing into Gandhi over his remark against the Prime Minister, BJP vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe on Friday said the former Congress president should consult his party leaders before making any comments.
In a letter written to Gandhi, Sahasrabuddhe, who heads the Public Policy Research Centre, said, 'It is a friendly advice that it would be better if in future you consult senior leaders of your party. They will suggest you to make serious and responsible statements.'
On Thursday, Gandhi had targeted the Narendra Modi government over the killing of Indian soldiers in Galwan valley, asking 'why were our soldiers sent unarmed to martyrdom'.
He had also questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the issue.
