Rahul Gandhi to inaugurate Congress' new office Rajiv Bhawan in Raipur today

Raipur, Aug 10 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi will be in Chhattisgarh on Friday to inaugurate his party's new office, Rajiv Bhawan, in Raipur.

Also the Congress president will be meeting several party leaders as the assembly election is due in the state.

Rahul tweeted, "I will be in Chhattisgarh today to inaugurate the new Congress office, Rajiv Bhawan, in Raipur. I will also be meeting with various groups of professionals, Congress workers and leaders in preparation for the upcoming state elections."

The Congress is eyeing on to wrest power in Chhattisgarh, which is currently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Chief Minister Raman Singh.

The Chhattisgarh assembly election is crucial for both the BJP and the Congress as it will set the tone for the 2019 General Elections, which will be held in less than a year's time.

The dates for the state elections are yet to be announced.
