Lucknow, Jun 28 (IBNS): Gearing up for the 2019 General Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) poll campaign for Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, media reports said.

UP had yielded 73 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats to the BJP and its allies in 2014.

Modi will visit eastern UP's Sant Kabir Nagar district on Thursday.

The PM will offer floral tributes at Sant Kabir Samadhi, on the occasion of the 500th death anniversary of the great saint and poet, Kabir. He will offer Chadar at Sant Kabir Mazaar.

He will visit the Sant Kabir Cave and unveil a plaque to mark the laying of Foundation Stone of Kabir Academy, which will highlight the great saint’s teachings and thought.

Later, Modi will hold a public meeting in Maghar.

Modi himself had contested and won from Varanasi constituency of UP.
