PM Modi mourns legendary painter Syed Haider Raza's demise

New Delhi, July 24 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed sadness over the demise of legendary painter Syed Haider Raza.
"Saddened by the demise of widely acclaimed painter SH Raza, whose contribution to art will always be remembered," PM Modi said. 
 
Raza died in a New Delhi hospital on Saturday following a protracted illness. He was 94.
 
Raza was suffering from old-age related ailments.
 
He had been  in the intensive care unit of a private hospital for the last two months.
 
A Padma Shri recipient, Raza was elected as fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1983.
