One killed and several injured when Porsche hits auto-rickshaws in Chennai

Chennai, Sep 19 (IBNS): An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and several people injured in Chennai on Monday after a Porsche rammed into them, according to media reports.

The police has arrested Vikas Vijayanand, a 22-year old student, who was driving the car allegedly drunk.

The Porsche rammed into a dozen auto-rickshaws that were parked in a row on Cathedral road and some of the vehicles were crumbled into a heap, reported the media.

G Arumugam, a 29-year old driver died  soon after while a few others were injured.

"The student Vikas Vijayanand was drunk while driving. We are investigating," NDTV reported quoting a police officer.

According to local media, Vikas Vijayanand and his friend were returning home after attending a party thrown by Tuti Patriot, which won the Tamil Nadu Premier League final on Sunday night.
