Nirmala Sitharaman caught of lying on Rafale deal, must resign: Rahul
New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of "lying" on HAL's capability to build the Rafale aircraft and demanded her to resign.
Gandhi claimed that former HAL Chief T S Raju has "nailed her lie."
The Congress President said Sitharaman's position is untenable and she must step down.
He tweeted: "The RM (Rafale Minister) tasked with defending corruption has been caught lying again. The former HAL Chief, T S Raju, has nailed her lie, that HAL didn’t have the capability to build the RAFALE. Her position is untenable & she must resign."

The Congress party has claimed that the central government caused a loss of over Rs. 41000 to the exchequer in connection with the Rafale deal.
The party accused the Centre of endangering the national security by bypassing the HAL in favour of some businessman "friends" for offset contract in the controversial Rafale deal.
The Rafale deal has taken the centre stage of Indian politics of late with the Congress demanding the release of the price at which 36 fighter jets were bought by the Indian government from France.
However, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman denied to reveal the price owing to secrecy of the deal.
