Militant killed in J&K

Srinagar, May 25 (IBNS): The security forces said a militant was killed during a brief gunfight in Yaripora area of south Kashmir on Monday.

According to reports, the militant was killed when he he was trying to escape from the orchard but security forces neutralized the gunman.

“The suspected militant is believed to be a foreigner and the police is on job to identify him. He was involved in a firing attack on a Rashtriya Rifles patrol in Kanjikulla Kokergund (Yaripora) area of Kulgam district, critically injuring one soldier”, a senior police official told IBNS over
phone.

However, the police later identified him as local militant Atuallah Bhat of Kulgam town.
