Locals rescue woman from getting drowned in Brahmaputra river

Guwahati, Aug 20 (IBNS): Local people of Garigaon area under Jalukbari police station in Assam’s capital city Guwahati safely rescued a woman, who was getting drowned in the Brahmaputra river on Monday.

According to the reports, some people of Garigaon area spotted the woman floating in the river and informed others immediately.

The locals then engaged in rescue operation by using their boats in the Brahmaputra river and rescued the woman.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

“We have informed that, some people of Garigaon area had spotted a woman in the Brahmaputra river and immediately rushed to the area. The woman was safely rescued and admitted at hospital in serious condition,” a police officer of Jalukbari police station said.
