Kupwara encounter: Family of slain soldier slams Modi govt

Bulandshahr, Aug 26 (IBNS): The family members of an Indian Army soldier, who was killed while fighting against terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir's Kupwara district on Sunday, slammed the Narendra Modi government for not taking proper precautions to protect the soldiers.

"I raised him and admitted him to the military school. The government doesn't have strong rules for soldiers. They don't receive proper orders or weapons. They remain quiet. I have another son I am ready to sacrifice him and myself for the country," Kumar's father told media.

The body of the slain soldier,  Rahul Kumar,  reached his native village in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr on Tuesday morning.

"The government keeps saying that good days will come. Our good days have arrived. My brother died in 3 months after the new government took over. We should kill 100 soldiers from Pakistan in retaliation," said Kumar's brother.

Three soldiers were killed in encounters that  have been continuing intermittently since Aug 23 in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

Five terrorists were also killed in a separate encounter.
