Kejriwal hints at conspiracy theory over acquittal of accused in 2G verdict
New Delhi, Dec 21 (IBNS): In an attempt to sustain an anti-corruption image, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday hinted at a conspiracy theory over the court's acquittal of all accused including former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK leader M Kanimozhi in the 2G scam case.
Hours after the verdict, Kejriwal tweeted: "2G scam is one of the biggest scams. It rocked the country n was one of the reasons for UPA’s downfall. Today everyone goes scot free. Did CBI mess up the case? Intentionally? People need answers."

Union Finance Minister and BJP leader, Arun Jaitley, tweaked Congress saying the Opposition is wearing the verdict as a badge of honour, reports said.
Both Kejriwal and Jaitley were countered immediately by Congress leader Priyanka Chaturvedi asking both to read the judgement and apologise to the people of the country.
Priyanka tweeted: "Cc @arunjaitley @BJP4India @ArvindKejriwal @amitshah @narendramodi this is part of the verdict. Do read and apologise to the country for cheating this nation for your power hungry politics. #TruthPrevails #UPANotGuilty."

Giving a relief to the Congress and its ally DMK, all accused have been acquitted as the prosecution failed to provide sufficient proofs.
The trial had started in 2011. All licenses of Raja were cancelled earlier by the Supreme Court.
One of the lawyers of the accused told NDTV: "I have no hesitation in saying that the prosecution miserably failed to prove the case to the judge."
After the verdict, one of the accused Kanimozhi said: "Justice prevailed. Thanks to everyone who stood by me."
The 2G scam was one of the biggest allegations of corruption against the UPA government which then opposition BJP used as political weapon.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the acquittal of all the accused in 2G scam case proved the massive propaganda against the UPA government, which was charged with being involved in corruption, had no foundation.
"Truth has prevailed" the former PM told media.
Reacting to the verdict, former Union Finance Minister and Congress leader, P. Chidambaram said: "Allegations of scam against the highest level of government (Congress government) was never true and correct."
Another Congress leader Kapil Sibal said: "Unfortunately the country had to go through this. They have attacked former Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh). (It is clear) nothing has happened."
Senior Congress leader Sashi Tharoor told media: "Justice has worked as it should in our country."
