Kashmir: Security forces launch CASO

Srinagar/UNI: Security forces on Friday afternoon launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said.

They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on a tip off about the presence of militants at village Kralcheck Imam Sahib, Shopain, launched a joint search operation Friday.

All the exit points were sealed and house-to-house searches were launched.

So far no contact was established with militants, they said adding further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, additional security forces were deployed in adjacent areas to prevent any untoward incident.
