Kashmir: Motorcyclist dies, pillion mate injured in Kupwara

Srinagar/UNI: A motorcyclist was killed and pillion rider injured when a vehicle hit them in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said on Tuesday.

They said an unidentified car hit a motorcycle in Handwara in Kupwara resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh and his pillion mate Mehraj Uddin Bhat.

Both the injured were rushed to Handwara hospital where Sheikh was declared brought dead while the condition of Bhat is stated to be stable.

Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to identify the vehicle and arrest the driver who fled away from the spot after the accident.
