Jammu and Kashmir:  IGP Kashmir extends greetings on International Women's Day

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Monday greeted all women of Kashmir,particularly the women of Police family on the International Women’s Day. 

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that Kumar urged the people of Kashmir to pledge forensuring the safety and respect of women so that they could move forward in the direction of fulfillingtheir hopes and aspirations. 

The IGP Kashmir urged the women in Kashmir to dial 112, the Emergency Response Support System(ERSS), in case of any emergency. 

The statement said that ERSS has been designed to address all emergency signals received from citizensthrough voice calls, SMS, email, panic SOS signal and ERSS web portal. 

Kumar advised the women to use 112 India mobile app (available on Google Playstore and Apple store)to activate SHOUT feature, which alerts registered volunteers in vicinity for immediate assistance apartfrom activating Emergency Response Centre.
