Iran's President Hassan Rouhani visits India, meets Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Feb 17 (IBNS):  Iran's President Hassan Rouhani is currently visiting India and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday

During the meeting between two leaders, they discussed on cooperation in trade & investment, energy, connectivity, defence & security and regional issues.

Both the countries also signed nine agreements.

Among the nine agreements signed between the two countries are issues like easing visa rules and cooperation on medical sector, apart from a maritime agreement on Chabahar Port development.

Rouhani is paying a state visit to India at the invitation of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Feb 15-17.

Narendra Modi had paid a State visit to Iran in May 2016.

Besides his official engagements in Delhi, President Rouhani will also visit Hyderabad.
