IED exploded in Manipur’s Moreh town

Guwahati: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was exploded at Moreh area in Manipur along Indo-Myanmar border on Monday night.

According to the reports, the explosion took place near western campus fencing of Subsidiary Intelligent Bureau bordering to St. George High School of Moreh at around 9:30 pm on Monday.

The site of explosion is located at Shijang Veng approach road to New Moreh village.

There was no report of any casualty in the explosion.

Following the explosion, top police and army officials had rushed to the area cordoned off the area.

A top official of Manipur police said that, suspected militants had triggered the explosion.

It is the second blast in the international bordering town within 72 hours.

On Oct 5, an IED was exploded at the campus wall of Moreh police and Intelligent Bureau.

The frequent blast at security agencies office campus leads to feel unsafe by public of Moreh town.
