Hansraj Gangaram Ahir appeals citizens to adapt to cashless transactions
Addressing a function on ‘Demonetization’, organized by the Delhi Police here on Saturday, Ahir said that cashless transactions will not only bring in transparency in financial transactions but also prevent tax evasion.
Underlining that the Prime Minister has asked every citizen to take oath for cashless transactions, Ahir said the demonetisation has thrown us a new challenge, offering us multiple opportunities for digital economy.
Asking the police officers to make good use of their massive outreach among all cross sections of society, Ahir said the police personnel should not only adopt digital payments but also help and facilitate traders, RWAs etc.
Allaying concerns that the Government was not prepared for the effects of demonetization, Ahir said crores of Jan Dhan bank accounts were opened during the last more than two years of the present Government. Besides the Government is committed to setting up the supporting digital and communication infrastructure, he added.
Ahir said the Government has also been able to deliver cash to all corners of the country.
