Ranchi, Aug 21 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Jharakhand to inaugurate a project of Power Grid Corporation of India and announce the commencement of work of NTPC's North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (3X660 MW), on Thursday said the Centre aims to bring the government in the hands of the common people.

"The government should be easily available to every people of India through 'Digital India'. The government should be available in the hands of the common people, through his mobile phone," Modi said addressing a rally here, adding that with his dream, everyone will be empowered enough to track  the government's work from cellphpones.

Modi said the state of Jharkhand has the potential to even overtake Gujarat.

He said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee created Jharkhand with a dream that this land with rich natural resources will benefit the entire country.

"Am astonished that this super thermal power project which was inaugurated by Atal Behari Vajpayee, has not moved forward. I think I will have to take forward the work started by Atal ji," the PM asserted.

He said: "If we want to take India to heights, then no part of India should be underdeveloped."

"If we want progress in India, then we have to develop every state in the country," said the PM.

Modi said his government is aiming to build gas based economy in India.

"We are aiming to transport gas through pipelines to every household. Like you get water in your tap, you should be able to get gas on a pipeline - we're working towards that," the PM promised.

Modi said the youths in Jharkhand has potential and that "Jharkhand is now 13... this is a critical age... the people here must decide how Jharkhand will be when it is 18.."
