Former Puducherry minister VMC Sivakumar allegedly murdered

Puducherry, Jan 3 (IBNS): VMC Sivakumar, a former Speaker from Union Territory of Puducherry was murdered by unknown assailants on Tuesday, according to media reports.

A former minister, Sivakumar was reportedly hacked to death by unidentified persons at Puducherry's Karaikal district, reported Times of India Chennai

Sivakumar, a former DMK strongman and independent legislator from Karaikal, had joined the AIADMK in the presence of late chief minsiter of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa in April 2016.

He was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2000.
