Former Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee discharged from hospital, now in safe home

Kolkata/IBNS: COVID-19 infected former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was on Wednesday discharged from hospital.

A medical bulletin by Woodlands Hospital, where he was admitted to, stated, "His cough has reduced. He has improved clinically and is discharged today with advice of domiciliary care and 7 days of home isolation."

He has been sent to a safe home in south Kolkata.

The former Chief Minister was detected with the virus on May 18.

He was hospitalised following a decrease in oxygen levels.

Bhattacharjee, a senior Communist leader, remained the Chief Minister between 2001-2011.
