Eastern Railway to cancel more than 300 EMU trains from Sealdah in next eight days

Kolkata/IBNS: Due to non-interlock works with commissioning automatic signalling system between Ichhapur and Naihati stations, the Eastern Railway has announced to cancel more than 300 EMU suburban trains from Sealadh and Naihati stations from Sunday (Feb 9) 12 pm till 10 am. on next Sunday (Feb 16), reports said.

Publishing a statement, the Eastern Railway said that besides the cancellation, several local, express and passenger trains will be diverted and short-terminated or short-originated during this period.

"Multiple pairs of local trains in Sealdah-Naihati, Sealdah-Kalyani Simanta, Sealdah-Ranaghat, Sealdah-Krishnanagar, Naihati-Ranaghat and Naihati-Krishnanagar sections of Eastern Railway will remain canceled from February 9 to February 16 due to the commissioning of automatic signalling system," an Easter Railway official told IBNS.

"The normal train service will be resumed after 10 am. on February 16 (Sunday)," the officer added.
