Eastern Command GoC meets Assam CM-Governor
Guwahati, Aug 10 (IBNS): General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi called on Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday at his official residence in Guwahati and discussed with him on the gamut of issues related to security scenario and welfare of ex-service men.
During the meeting, emphasis was given on synergistic approach between the State Government and the Army in maintaining law and order and other security issues and providing rightful vocations to the ex-service men.
Assam Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, Director General of Police Khagen Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister MGVK Bhanu, Commissioner and Secretary Home LS Changsan, Additional DGP (SB) Pallab Bhattacharjee were also present at the meeting.
Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, AVSM, VSM, GOC–in-C Headquarters Eastern Command arrived at Guwahati on Monday on three days visit to Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
He was received at Borjhar Air Force Station by Lt Gen Sarath Chand, AVSM, VSM, Commander of the GAJRAJ Corps.
The Army Commander also met Assam governor PB Acharya at Raj Bhawan.
He then left for Shillong to meet the Air Force Commander at Eastern Air Command.
