New Delhi/UNI:  The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Sunday briefly closed seven metro stations due to security reasons.

"Entry & exit gates of Tilak Nagar are closed. Entry & exit of Nangloi, Surajmal Stadium, Badarpur, Tughlakabad, Uttam Nagar west and Nawada are closed." DMRC said in a series of tweet.

But later within 30 minutes, the DMRC informed that all metro stations were reopened and the normal services resumed.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police clarified that the reports of firing and tense situation in west Delhi were rumours.

"Some unsubstantiated reports of tense situation in South East & West District are being circulated on social media. It is to reiterate that these are all rumours. Don't pay attention to such rumours. Delhi Police is closely monitoring accounts spreading rumours and taking action", Delhi police said in a tweet.
