Delhi Assembly Polls: Voting percentage remains low at 42.29 pc
New Delhi/IBNS: Polling in Delhi Assembly elections remained significantly low with 42.29% voter turnout recorded till 4pm.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order situation in the national capital.
Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel held flag marches in the sensitive areas in northeast and east Delhi, officials were reported as saying.
Patrolling in motorcycles was also conducted by senior officials, Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) Alok Kumar said.
Senior cops covered sensitive areas in West Delhi afoot.

Meanwhile, former President Pranav Mukherjee and CPM leader Prakash Karat cast their votes.
"Voted today for the #DelhiAssemblyElections. Every election is important. Every vote is essential and it counts. I urge my fellow citizens in #Delhi to come out and vote in large numbers and participate in the strengthening of our Democracy," Mukherjee tweeted.

Around 1.47 crore eligible voters of Delhi will elect representatives for the 70-member Delhi assembly from 672 candidates from 0800 hrs to 1800 hrs today.
The voter turnout, according to some experts, is being considered very important in these elections as it can change poll prospects of any candidate.
Polling will end at 1800 hrs and the results will be announced on February 11.
