New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday urged the Centre to  urgently provide oxygen to Delhi amid the crisis in the national capital.

"Serious oxygen crisis persists in Delhi. I again urge centre to urgently provide oxygen to Delhi. Some hospitals are left with just a few hours of oxygen," Kejriwal tweeted.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal on Tuesday tested positive for COVID-19 following which she has isolated herself at home, sources in the Delhi government said.

The Delhi Chief Minister has also quarantined himself as a precautionary measure, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the National Capital on Monday reported a massive spike of 23,686 fresh cases of COVID-19 while 240 people lost their lives.

The new additions took the City's caseload to 8,77,146 and the death toll to 12,361.
The positivity rate in Delhi declined slightly to stand at 26.12 per cent from Sunday's 29.74 per cent.

Kejriwal on Monday had announced a six-day lockdown in Delhi, starting from 2200 hrs on April 19 till 0500 hrs of April 26 in the wake of an unstoppable surge in the coronavirus cases.
